A PRESENTATION EVENING

 

Wedesday 11th April between 6pm and 8pm


The Delabole Development Group, as a partner in the Camelot Country Community Interest Company, invited all those interested in the delelopment and sale of 14 low cost 2 and 3 bedroomed homes at Blakes Close off The Sidings, to a presentation on the evening of Wedesday 11th April between 6pm and 8pm at Delabole School. Detailed plans will be available and advisors will be on hand.

LOW COST HOUSING FOR LOCAL PEOPLE

The Delabole Development Group, as a partner in the Camelot Country Community Interest Company, which is a locally based not for profit Community Land Trust.
The project comprises 10 x 3 bedroom houses to be sold from £124,000 to £124,995 each, and 4 x2 bedroom houses to be sold at £103,000, if purchased direct through Camelot Country CIC. The new homes for sale will be completed by the end of June, 2012.

 

There will be a second Presentation evening for interested parties in April at Delabole School.

The site will be known as Blakes Close and the scheduled completion date is late May 2012---just in time to put up the Diamond Jubilee bunting!

Detailed plans were on view and representatives from Cornwall Community Land Trust and from a local mortgage company were on hand to answer questions.

Blakes Close is not specifically for first time buyers----it is for people who have a connection with the village who would like to have the opportunity to make their home here: the Camelot Country C.I.C. are delighted to have been able to spearhead this initiative.

 


 

 

 

 

We are pleased to announce that Mi Space the builders engaged to build the properties on the land at the Sidings, are on site today 27th September 2011.
This has been a long haul for the Development Group in conjunction with Camelot Country. We have come across many mountains enroute and not many Valleys apart from Alan Fox who without his help it is very much doubted this project would have got this far.

Low Cost Housing for Locals

 

As joint partner with the Camelford Forum in the Camelot Country Community Interest Company, the Development Group has been actively (and patiently) seeking to purchase land at The Sidings from the S.W. Regional Development Agency.In previous consultations with the local community it became obvious that there was a need for low cost housing for first time buyers. This site will be used for the construction of 14 homes, with a mix of two and three bedrooms, each with a garden and parking spaces.

For nearly three years we have been seeking loans to fund this project: we have had much assistance from Alan Fox of the Cornwall Land Community Trust and have benefitted greatly from his expertise when negotiating with prospective funders, Cornwall Council and legal firms. We are also grateful to Andy Shaw, the chair of Camelot Country, for the time he has spent on this project.

We are pleased to say that a contract has been agreed with a building firm, and the construction of the first phase of 10 homes will commence shortly.
